Can Yoga replace my daily exercise?

Yoga can work on many levels, physically the practice can be dynamic to improve strength, flexibility and fitness or the practice can work alongside other forms of exercise or sport. Because breathing is a big part of yoga this helps condition the lungs and heart in a non aggressive manner.

What other health benefits?

Yoga can help build strength and flexibility, helps reduce stress, improves focus and concentration, improves the quality of your sleep, promotes feelings of wellbeing and peace of mind and brings a sense of stability and inner balance to name but a few!

Do I need to be flexible?

No, your practice starts where you are and flexibility and ease of movement improve over time

I’ll never be able to get into any of those poses?

You would be surprised the amazing ways your body can move and bend when you practice.

I feel self conscious?

Yoga will help you feel more connected to your body and more accepting of your uniqueness

I cant relax/meditate?

No problem, gradually yoga will give you the tools to help you slow down and become more mindful.

What should I wear/bring?

Wear comfortable clothe that allow freedom of movement and extra layers and socks for the relaxation stage. Try not to eat for 2 hours before practicing as the poses may cause discomfort with a full stomach and its good to invest in a non slip mat if you decide you enjoy the practice.
